When I edit a filament in the AMS Device screen it disappears after few seconds.
I click on the box representing that position of the AMS (3 in this case). I select my custom filament (Inland PLA Basic) from the drop down. I select the color, then I select the PA profile and hit confirm. It shows up correctly, but then disappears shortly after without me leaving the screen or doing anything else.
This seems to be broken and only does this if I select my custom entered filament from the drop down. If I select one of the others, it does not disappear.
Have you seen the Wiki article about known issues with custom filaments: Problems and solutions for Custom Filament | Bambu Lab Wiki?
It looks like some of the problems shall be resolved in a future release.
My searches did not lead me to that page unfortunatly.
I think I found a work around on my own last night that may be the same thing in that article. It seems to actually let me select the custom filament on the printers screen and then that does transfer and hold in Bambu Studio. It’s not ideal, but I think that gets me moving again.
I also figured out if you know the K value and it won’t let you pick a calibration ran under a different filament name, you can start the calibration and then stop it before it does much and manually enter the K value.
Too many work arounds, but at least I am moving forward with some kind of flow. I am saving the calibration values and the filament info in a spreadsheet since the Bambu stuff doesn’t seem like it’s going to make it easy right now. I don’t want to lose them. Those prints for manual calibration take too long.
I am glad that you found a work around. I was struggling with custom filaments myself until I finally found the Wiki article and realized that custom filaments are not supported in LAN only mode at all.
Keeping track of all calibration results in a spreadsheet: better be safe than sorry! I do the same.
