I can print from SD card. But when setting up and scanning QR code on my iPhone I get to step 2 Connect network only supports 2.4ghz. But the XB8 modem is supposed to automatically know what setting is being looked for but the Bambu Handy app returns a message on the iPhone - Maybe not on the same LAN- connection failed. Fault Self Check and then get the screen attached.
Any work arounds to this issue? Really defeats the ability to use the Bambu Handy app or desktop Bambu Studio to print from. Really a hassle to work in Studio and save to the sd card to have to print.
Is it possible you have the dual band setup on the router so that it chooses the best option for each device between 2.4 and 5ghz and your phone is connecting to the 5ghz?
The Xfinity XB8 modem choses the best option for each device. Which is why I don’t understand why the set up wouldn’t acknowledge that the set up needs 2.4ghz connection and make the handshake. Without the option to print from Studio and/or Handy this is a deal breaker. If I can’t find a way around this issue I might have to return the printer. I dread hooking into the Xfinity support to see what options they suggest as it takes 30 minutes to go through their AI customer service prompts before you get a live person.
If it selects bands I’m sure it’s choosing 5ghz for the phone and 2.4 for the printer. The phone needs to be on the 2.4 as well. Sounds like you’ll have to set up a guest network and sign both into it.
Can you use your data plan to make the connection on the phone without the phone going through the router?
And my network router doesn’t care about what bits are on 2.4 and what’s on 5. What matters is if they are on the guest or main network. It’s surprising to me that the Xfinity modem isolates the objects on the different bands. Am I understanding that right?
I don’t have Xfinity, but my router has a seperate 2.4 for IoT devices, one for just 2,4, and 5. It will sort them if I wanted it to, but I prefer to put them where I want them. The printers have their own 2.4, the guest network. Just helps simplify it at times.
I opened a support ticket and was emailed some specific steps to follow and all is good now. Support responded within a couple days. Thanks to those that tried to help.
