Can't figure this out, first layer issues, matte pla

Glad you liked it. Was more for others than you, but I enjoy using it.

Printing with Bambu since June. You have been printing with wet filament. Just because it’s bambu and in a vacuum seal doesn’t mean it’s dry. 8 hr drying time doesn’t mean it’s dry either. The number one cause of artifacts and issues with first layers is wet or moist filament.

There is no way of knowing how damp a new spool is, or IF it is. Outside of weighing it right out of the bag and then drying and weighing again. Well ■■■■ prints will tell you.

I would wager you’re now seeing what your used to on prints. The first layer is a tell, but you should see things like poc marks. Your Frankenstein’s monster was printed with wet filament. The screaming dude in silk looks a bit dryer.

Matte PLA is very difficult to hide issues with. It could be the dampest, oldest, newest etc.

The horse is because this has been talked about so much, yet few listen. Dry your filament, then keep it in a controlled place, or dry it whenever you’re going to use it.
