I’ve been trying to print a specific Model without stringing but no matter what i do, there is always a lot of stringing on the inside of the print. Here is the link to the model.
I’m aware or at least pretty sure that printing the spikes without any stringing will be very hard to do but the rest should be printable without stringing.
I’m printing on a P1S with a 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle and an AMS.
I’m using orca slicer latest stable release and here are my settings. I created a profile exclusively for PETG (or at least for the translucent role i have right now)
Support is disabled and the other Tabs (Multimaterial and Others) i left on default. I can add Screenshots if necessary for Troubleshooting, let me know.
Filament is BL PETG Translucent Teal
I’ve dried the filament on a PolyDryer on the second mode for 12 hours (2x 6h successively)
Here are Screenshots of my Filament Settings
Retraction is overwritten to 0.3mm by default from the orignal PETG Translucent Filament Profile, the rest i left as is.
I printed the model 3 times by now, 2 times before drying the filament and once after drying it. The second print still came out the best of all three but mainly because on the third try, a blob on the nozzle dislodged during the print and ruined the model. I’ve also bought a little brass brush and cleaned all residue of the nozzle so this shouldn’t happen again. Here are some pictures of my second try
What i noticed is that on the first couple of layers, while the nozzle is printing, there is always a little bit of PETG collecting on the nozzle which will eventually fall of randomly on the print somewhere. Only printed with PLA so far other than that one PETG spool but i never saw that happen with PETG
Update
I disabled Scarf Joint and almost all stringing was gone after that.
Still i feel like my PETG settings aren’t optimal, anybody got any input on that?
Hi,
I got simmilar problems with the PETG Translucent from Bambulab. I have got an X1C and would like to print some connector housings.
Unfortunately i got a problem with stringing and oozing while printing.
After a few layers material is growing on the nozzle and i got stringing inside some of the holes.
Already contacted Bambu and they sent me a link to this page : “Filament sticks to the nozzle”
I dryed the filament 12h on 70° and followed all the steps on the WIKI website but the problem isnt’t solved yet.
Does anyone have a tipp for me to improve my print quality?
Sorry i cant upload picture at some reason , probably because my account is new
Thanks
After calibrating the filament, what helped the most was to thoroughly clean the nozzle with a brass brush, disable scarf joint and reduce auxiliary and part cooling. With that there was almost no stringing left and very little to no buildup on the nozzle tip.
Thanks for the reply,
Sounds great!
May I ask you if you can share your exact settings?
Already tryed a lot adapting different parameters and also bambu support isn’t a great help…
Would be so nice to try your parameters
Thanks
I’m trying to print the PETG Translucent (the clear one) from Bambu for a light diffuser project.
I’m having vertical lines in my print. Any of you have the same issue? I feel like it is coming from the stepper motors. Since I’m printing slowly I don’t think it is VFA and I find the line related to when the motors are changing direction. I’m curious to know if I’m not the only one with this.
