I’m having problems starting a print via wifi on my X1 carbon.
I originally set the printer up in my house and had no issues sending prints and watching the video feed on the Handy app etc. But I have since moved the printer to my shed which has different wifi and since then I haven’t been able to start a print using wifi.
The printer is definitely connected as it has done a software update in the new location and I can also monitor the print on the Handy app once I have started it from the SD card, but I can’t send a print to it or access it via the Handy app unless I start it manually first.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Using the SD card might be significant. We found that the SD card if full, blocked the communication and removal of the card cured the problem. Our error was -13 for which we could find no definition.
The SD card is definitely not full but I guess I could try a different one to see if that’s causing it.
By “different wifi” you mean it’s using a different wireless access point than it was prior to moving it to your shed?
Originally I was almost certain it was because your printer wasn’t on the same subnet anymore, but I just tested that by keeping my printer on my home WiFi and setting my desktop to use my phone in hotspot mode (totally different IP subnet) and it after a few seconds the printer popped right back up in Bambu Studio.
You’ll have to do some digging into your network settings to make sure there’s no ports being blocked, firewalls etc… I’d start with the basics, making sure you can ping your printer from whatever machine you’re printing on and go from there. ie connect your printing machine to your shed’s WiFi.
I installed a Wifi extender in my shed (not mesh) so as far as I know it is it’s own network now - different password etc. I only have very basic knowledge of network stuff.
I just started a print this morning wirelessly and it worked fine, so I can’t work out what’s happening
I think you might be on to something. I don’t have a different SD card to try, but I removed the card and it’s been working perfectly ever since!
I never would have thought of that as a cause of the issue!!
