I have a number of models that people use for all sorts of things including sorting Lego. A while back they removed the ability to use the word Lego in models or profiles. I thought this was pretty dumb at the time as I have never seen such a restriction on any other site, and it pretty much turned me off from creating models any longer. I recently joined the exclusive program for some of my models and removed all references to Lego in my models, in order to update them. When trying to update a print profile today, to add a new plate, it wont let me and indicates I have used the word Lego, but this is not the case. My only thought it that it is pulling from the comments, where people often use the word Lego. Please fix this
Because Lego will periodically go through sites and shut stuff down. They did just that about 3 months ago, and on Thangs. Lego is very protective over their IP.
As for the comment thing, I doubt it. I had a problem with titles yesterday. If you can’t get in you may want to put in a makerworld ticket. Probably a bug with the new system thing.

I did open a ticket. Just not sure that they will even respond, as they never responded to a previous ticket. I will just send the model to the user who requested, I guess and be done with it

It is like a couple of months ago when Luke Skywalker was arguing with Vader about whose IP using models were more right than the other.
I still don’t know opif Luke knew he was actually arguing with his father.

I remember that. It really choked me up because it reminded me of when me and my own father used to argue over if it was appropriate to use A.I. renderings as the main model picture.

I solve my similar situation creating an IA version, as my terms, of my father. No more arguing.
So weird, I didn’t know that that word was prohibited.
And strangely enough, I’m pretty sure I saw a 2x4 Lego model with Lego in the name of the model the other day.

It’s funny because the orange and blue upload sites still have no restrictions on that word. Heck on the orange one a user is even using the logo on all of their uploads.

If they use the word Lego, than Lego will find them.
They do not play. They will bring lawyers into it quickly if you don’t comply.
It’s safe to say “Lego compatible “. Just can’t say or imply it is officially Lego

I’m jealous of your collection, haha.
I like doing the lego cranes. 
I designed an extension section for one of the cranes, but never posted it up. Wasn’t sure how to list it, word it, without mentioning lego. The piece/extension I designed was much more it’s own/non lego piece that only really worked for that model.

Thanks. That’s just a little bit of it now. The room has gotten out of control. Especially the figures. I need to go in there and rearrange stuff but once I see how big the job is i give up.

Lego and their legal team are crazy. While in some cases their position might be fine, other actions of them are often quite questionable.
I would just use more general terms that also other brands of such toys use. In english building bricks, toy bricks, interlocking bricks seem to be common. In german it’s for example klemmbausteine. I would use such terms as hashtag instead of the brand name.
No I don’t have the lights. But yes it’s awesome, it took me a whole weekend to build it, I was in speed building mode, so much fun

Exactly, I dont think they allow typing LEGO when uploading models as well
I’ve seen it on cults3d. It wouldn’t allow me to use certain trademark names.
Just an update, they are saying it is a bug. They want me to delete my profile and re-upload. I’d rather not do that, so I am back to where I was when I had Lego in the model without any of the benefits
