I have noticed a few contests have changed prize amounts from original ones and also the dates change it seems quite frequently i.e fishing contest was supposed to be announced today and now moved til the 16th. Would be nice if they could set the details in stone at beginning and follow thier structure. I knwo its free contests but the changing is kind of sketchy in my opinion.
The number of entries in a competition is unknown until the end. I believe they want to be fair and so they need to print all the entries for the judges to review. More entries = more time. I prefer that they review everything in a fair matter rather than rush and not review things fairly. However, this is my opinion. I found that MW is doing their best to make this a quality site. Sometimes it takes a little longer but IMO quality should be the top priority.
I saw this on other sites in the past and there can be many reasonsā¦
Like a contest not having attracted enough entries or not enough from people who never entered a contest.
In other cases it might be a matter of sponsor deals having changed since the contest was announced/started.
On the other hand I have also seen how contest got extended with last minute- or notice notice at all.
Same for contests with sudden and unexpected changes for the prices or conditions to qualify for the first few places.
These things were one of the main reasons I stopped uploading models for ācontestsāā¦
Why?
If you are in the game long enough you get to know āthe usual candidatesā - those users entering every single contest, usually with multiple models and the aim to win at least something.
I call them professional contenders LOL
For a while I was one of them and had lots of funā¦
Then I started to wonderā¦
āThat would be THE contest for user XXXX⦠Too bad he seems to be on holiday or such and misses out.ā
Surprise! Due to the demand and high number of entries we decided to extend the contest!
And a few days after the first closing date user XXXX uploaded his collection to the contestā¦
I have seen far too often how those last minute entries ended in the top ranks for the prices to still think it is just coincidence.
Especially considering the ācoachingā you often get after winning or closely missing out on a priceā¦
Letās just say that if you do as āsuggestedā for you uploads and post creation your chances of winning increaseā¦
yeah personally i think 5 entries per person per contest is too much, most contests only allow 1 entry (your best one) but i guess from Bambu perspective it helps make the contest look more populated and they get 5x the files for their makerworld collection. I just feel that allowing so many entries per person make the greedy people slap together any bad design just to have a chance at a ālow hanging fruitā prize (one of the 9 $40 cards).
