While there I decided to change my left nozzle as it looked a bit coated. I have two new .4 nozzles for the H2d, I tried one and got an error about an incorrect install. I also had trouble getting the silicone sock over the nozzle. The sock seemed too large and was covering the nozzle enough to make auto bed leveling fail.
the picture below shows the hotends with the silicone sock on. The gap between the hotend and the top (top arrow) was larger than what you see on the picture. It’s almost like the sock didn’t want to go up high enough. Right side nozzle, no trouble. The pic below is not my machine, it’s how the sock is supposed to look, mine has a larger gap, I should reassemble the non-working nozzle and take a pic or video.
I then put the old nozzle back in and it worked perfectly. The silicone sock, any of the 4 I have, worked.
Now I am thinking the 2 .4 H2D nozzles are not compatible with my printer? Is it possible they are A1 nozzles? The box they came in says model number FAH023, I looked that up and it is the correct hotend.
I am not sure why I cannot install a new hotend but the old one fits fine?
had to take off the cover (3 bolts), lube’d with oil and put the cover back on with the new nozzle, my first error was overload of some sort, check the filament path. My guess is the nozzle didn’t line up correctly. Took off the cover, removed and added the same nozzle (new) back in, silicone sock seems line it doesn’t fit correctly.
The next error was something about an incorrect nozzle install. At that time I install the old nozzle and a new sock and everything worked perfectly.
it’s either I’m an idiot or something is off with the new nozzle. I believe I even tested 2 NEW nozzles, can’t be 100% so I would have to retest to be sure.
Could be crazy but it does look misaligned. Or a weird camera effect. Did you say you removed the plate behind the nozzle? Check the alignment of that plate
I have a print with a few more hours that is running, once that is done I can take some pictures of my printer while installing the nozzle. The nozzle’s are labeled correctly so they appear to be H2D nozzles, but maybe they are slightly off?
Not sure what is going on. I completed a long print on my original nozzle, worked great, really nothing wrong with the nozzle I was just changing it because I was there.
After that print, I went to change the nozzle again, this time with pictures. I removed the old nozzle and added the new nozzle. Went to print something from that nozzle and it looked horrible, like the nozzle was dragging through the print.
It was late at night, so I moved the print to the right nozzle, it’s going fine.
I ordered 2, H2D .4 high-flow nozzle, looks like they are back in stock. I will report back when I replace the original nozzle with the high flow. Hopefully it snaps in and just works.
