Changing Servo Directon

Is it possible to change the direction of a servo from a design you load from Makerworld?

Scenario:

  1. Loaded the transmitter with the official remote core. (JSON)
  2. Loaded the receiver with the Cyber Brick Garbage truck core (JSON)

The servo moves in the opposite direction from the stick motion that I would like.

I went into the desktop app, and tried to edit this area:
servo adjust

  1. Changed the direction value (tried both positive and negative)
  2. Clicked Send configuration

No changes were observed. I feel I must be missing something here.

Hello - from your screenshot it looks like no module is selected - does the servo show up as an option if you open that drop-down menu?

If it’s grayed out and not possible to select, this could mean that the servo is mapped to another input on the controller.

The drop down is selectable, but blank.

I have check some of the others on this screen and they also are empty, for example “left stick”

Perhaps I am not connecting correctly? I launched the software, connected to the transmitter module, then clicked on “edit” here:
edit official

I also tried connecting both transmitter and receiver modules, then clicking on “edit” with the same results.

Again, I feel I must be missing something very basic here.

Ok interesting - let me ask a couple more questions to see if we can figure this out.

First, is this the model that you are building?

If so, here are the parts of the official controller that it uses:

I indicated in green the joystick that is “R Shoulder Stick” from your first post. Because this joystick is not used for this particular model, I think that could be why changing the value has no effect.

From what I can see, only the two front joysticks and top button are used in this project - if you try to edit the servo settings in these two joystick sections, are you able to change their direction?

Thank you for all the extra detail and help. No, actually the design I had built was the Simple Remote for Cyberbrick with a modification for a 2 way stick addition.

But I believe I figured out what happened. When I finished constructing both the transmitter and remote, I followed the core load procedure using the phone app. I selected the Official remote and they Cyber Brick garbage truck. It loaded both, and then I was able to control the truck. But the transmitter stick (the new 2way) was causing the lift fork to move in the opposite direction. So I loaded the desktop app.
At the bottom of the app screen, after I connected both boards, it showed the “official remote”.
original remote a
that is what I was trying to edit.
I went back to the simple remote listing, downloaded the JSON there, loaded it instead. This resulted in two configurations now showing:
official remote
I decided to try and edit this new one. Now all the drop downs are populated and I can change (the ones that were blank) and I can change and upload the value for the 2 way stick. So this resolved it.

Ok good to hear - glad that you got it working
