Charity 3D Printing for Kids at Augsburg Pediatric Oncology – Pieksekisten

Project Update – External Printing Support

Over the past months, we have been working on a structured way to allow external printing support for the Pieksekisten project.

Today, we are happy to share that the initial framework and guidelines have been completed.

The goal is to allow community members to contribute printed models while maintaining clear standards regarding:

  • quality
  • safety
  • hygiene
  • inventory management
  • and responsible use of resources

External printing support will not operate as an open “print anything and send it” system.

Instead, volunteers will be able to apply for specific print campaigns, allowing us to coordinate models and quantities while avoiding unnecessary overproduction.

All submitted models will first be sent to the project team, where they will undergo:

  • quality inspection
  • safety review
  • cleaning
  • and, where appropriate, disinfection

before they become part of the project inventory and are later distributed through the Pieksekisten.

A dedicated topic containing the complete guidelines, application process and future printing campaigns can now be found here:

Please note:

At the moment, we are not yet looking for external printing support.

Future print campaigns, model requests and volunteer opportunities will be announced in the dedicated topic.

Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in helping and supporting the project.
