It seems that check for build plate is at the wrong stage of the pre-check. The printer does level check first, then checks for build plate. If you forget to put in the build plate, the machine does level test with only the magnetic plate. Then - it checks for build plate and you get a warning. When you add the build plate based upon the warning, the machine starts to print using the levels established when the build plate wasn’t there. So - the nozzle is too low and it tears up the plate. Obviously a user error, but easy to avoid in software.

Yes, build plate fault is a deal breaker and should be first in the line-up.

This exact thing just happened to me. Agreed combination user-error/bad-logic.
However, as this printer is touted to be “treated like a regular printer” (see thread about why the off button doesnt actually turn the printer off) - this should behave like a printer would if it experience an error and let you “resume”.
If the printer knows the build plate is missing, and lets you resume, it should…
- let you resume with “I want to proceed without a Bambu Lab build plate” or “I have just installed the build plate”
- if you press the latter button - X1 should re-run the build plate check
How do we convert this thread into a bug report? I see theres a bug thread for Bambu Slicer, but can’t find one for the X1
