Clarifications toward download/print numbers adjustments

Sure! My model that uses 36 plates if my NES Keychain pack. The next largest is my Super Mario Brothers 3 Keychain Pack, which has 25 Plates.

Those are really cool.

The party is not stopping. In fact, it hasn’t officially begun yet because MW is still in Beta. For designers who want to follow the rules, all these changes will result in a better and more rewarding experience.

It’s crazy sometimes to sit back and realize how young Makerworld still is. Or that it’s still beta for that matter. It’s easy to loose sight of those things.

For sure! Once all these changes are said and done, I think most scammers will lose interest in the site and we’ll be left with high quality creators whose goal is to contribute to the community.

A more elegant solution would obviously be preferable. Hopefully these are temporary soutions and not permanent as we all want to see these communities prosper and GROW, which was the only reason they implemented rewards system in the first place. Sucking all the juice out of fruit the people were so excited about is NOT a solution, its a quick fix to stem losses. Back to the drawing board maker world devs. How about some sort of crypto based, maker world coin. Lets build the future.

Would suggest do per upload instead of a pack. Also keep in mind, download/print is not linear. Everyone models will come down in popularity.

It’s not an online store or a retail store to maintain sales yearly. Even stores will have to phase out of dated models.

Let’s not forget, MW requires a user account to download, that is already a limiting factor. There is a recent change on front page, user can customize the curation. So I actually don’t see any of those models on my front page due to the preference I picked.

Yeah, I don’t like the idea of splitting them all up into individual uploads. That seems messy and unnecessarily spammy. Part of the reason I did it this way is so that people didn’t have to search for different individual items on makerworld. I’ve provided them all in one place and the user experience is better this way too. When you open it in Bambu Handy, all the plates are there, ready to print as individual items. It’s way better for the end user that way IMO.

Regardless of what happens, i’ll likely still provide packs the way i’ve been doing it since I feel it’s cleaner, but maybe I won’t max out the amount of plates going forward and split them up a bit more like my Pokemon ones.

I like the setup you’ve got going on. Yeah, it makes things way cleaner and easier to navigate. It’s nice when approaching from the phone too.

I’m not always so keen when I come across designers that have something like that, but all listed individually. It quickly becomes visual noise to me, and is hard for my eyes to parse through. Although, makeworld in general could use some tools to better organize things. It can be a bit difficult looking through the catalogs of more prolific designers.

Under Mclanesmemories

My purchases, etc with Bambu are under my business name and got attached to the forums, so that is why I have two.

Wow, that is a lot of HueForge. Do any of your 450+ models actually have printed pictures?

Yep, a number do. When they were uploaded they followed the rules makerworld was enforcing at that time. All have been reviewed by them and had their blessing. See the other thread here if you feel the need.

This is awesome! Now if you could also stop the bots from buying up items from the shop as well.

I’m just starting out and have enjoyed enough points on my models to be able to get a voucher :credit_card:. However some of the new restrictions mean it will take me even longer than a few months to get enough points.

Only extremely popular models will do well, I have little hope that this will improve the range of models as people may be more reluctant to share for free on MakerWorld.

I’m glad steps are being taken to remove the problem people :supervillain: :supervillain: but it’s a shame everyone else doing the right thing is also currently being penalysed. The voucher helps me buy the filament to prototype my models.

Let’s be frank, this measure isn’t really about curbing bot accounts; it’s a strategy to cut costs, a move that was widely anticipated. Framing it as a battle against bot accounts certainly makes for a more agreeable narrative, one that’s likely aimed at boosting user acceptance. They possess a wealth of competent personnel, and bot accounts, especially those that push the boundaries, are relatively easy to detect. There are numerous strategies they could have employed to halt the proliferation of bots, yet they chose not to implement any.

A forthcoming action will likely involve eliminating the reward multiplier for fewer than 51 downloads. Quote me later.

Overall, I agree with your article. I also use the points to redeem in the shop, mainly to buy spare parts. When other people submit a ticket about bent nozzles and get free replacements, I take care of it myself and use the points to order a new nozzle or new print plates that have given up after a short time. I also have the odd filament from Bambulab to try them out and see if I can find a use for them. And you are right, it has now become more difficult to collect points in a short space of time.
Points bring advantages for some designers and for Bambulab the chance that their printing materials will also be tried out and considered. At the end of the day, however, there is only one number, which is either higher than the last number or lower. And that is for all parties involved, so that they are guided by where what is bought and sold and for what price.

I have also started building models just for Bambulab’s Makerworld, some of which are not yet finished. Whether they will ever be completed is questionable.Simply to reduce the cost of spare parts. But I’m actually only working against the policy of high prices. But now that I’ve managed to get started with the X1C and have solved all the problems that are urgent for me, including with extensions I’ve developed myself, I can actually concentrate on other things again, the points are no longer quite so important for me.

The world keeps turning, off to new shores.

I’m just starting also, but points for first print is kind of fair.

But limiting points to just 5 max dl/prints day per person is not, if true.

Say, someone goes to category downloads things from one profile…then comes to another, is it fair second person gets no credit for thier work?

That’s not the process at play here. Each model only registers max one print per user. This has no bearing on any other models.

It was mentioned somewhere in post.

I tested. I dled 5-7 models from bambu profile i got a captau verification come up.

Went to print zero dl’s i wanted. download. and it did not register. before it would instant show.
