I printed a refill spool and apparently the adhesion was too much because it ripped a few strings of filament and left residue in the shape of the print.
What’s the best method for cleaning that?
I’ve read that acetone (which dissolves) can damage textured plates. I tried 97% alcohol but that did nothing. I am bit skeptical that warm water and dish soap would be better.
I just reread this and saw that your were printing with ABS. I haven’t printed with ABS yet but I print a lot of ASA and this it the method I use for ASA as well…
I use Dawn Powerwash and it works great. When I clean my plates I get them wet in the sink, lay them flat, and spray them with Dawn Powerwash. Wait about ten minutes, rinse, and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Same or Dawn Platinum squeeze bottle. I use Scotchbrite blue sponge scrubber as well.
I dont soak or wait with mine like you do and have never had any issues with residue remaining, but I do have an in sink high temperature dispenser that puts out 180F water to rinse with.
I’ve used ABS and just about every other filament on that plate including fiber reinforced ones.
Acetone is still a good choice. but using it too often on your PEI build plate starts degrading it. If you can, stay away from aggressive mechanical products because they damage the surface more than acetone. The PEI layer on a textured plate is fairly thin.
Acetone is also used sometimes to juvenile a smooth PEI plate since it’s etching a thin layer of PEI off the plate.
Clean the plate with dish soap after it’s cleaned with acetone.
Bambu Lab Textured PEI Plate Cleaning Guide | Bambu Lab Wiki states: Do not clean the Textured PEI with Acetone, as it will damage the PEI surface.
I would get the engineering plate for ABS. It holds well without glue and releases when cooled down.
I don’t have an issue with adhesion. In fact, the textured one seems to hold a little too well since the print left residue. 
That’s what I mean. The engineering plate releases the print better when it’s cooled.
It does, w/out glue? I’ve not tried ABS, but neither ASA nor anything else I’ve tried on Eng. plate sticks w/out glue. Like at all, even the prime strip. I’m not complaining, it’s advertised as needing glue, and it doesn’t take much. But this is the 2nd time I’ve seen someone say it works w/out (most ppl seem to use glue on it), and I wonder what is different.

Yes, I printed ABS spools on the engineering plate and ABS-GF without glue. Once I tried to take a spool of the bed right after it was finished and it was almost stuck on there. When I wait until the bed is roomtemp, it just slides right off.
