Cleaning up a print

I printed this gorgeous wavy Pencil holder but there are small strings of filament (?) throughout the otherwise perfect print. (See pic)

Can anyone suggest:

a) How to clean up the existing print?

b) What print settings I could change to prevent this from occurring again?

Depending on the filament a hair drier can often be used to clean up the whispies. Just be careful to not use too much heat in one area.

I even use a small torch. Gas, not a flashlight.
