Clicking in purge

I’ve noticed that when the printer starts purging the filament and increases the purging speed, it starts making a clicking noise. This only happens when the speed is high. It no longer occurs when the speed decreases, and it no longer occurs during printing. It only occurs when the printer is purging the filament and increases the speed. Has anyone else had this same problem?

it can either be a partial clog (but that you’d notice on the print quality) or the extruder gears are reaching their end of life and you need to replace them - this will also be present on print though (with skips during extrusion), print something like a hollow cylinder at a decent speed to see if you’ll have skips at speed, if so just order the replacement and swap it out, it’s pretty easy to do following the tutorial

You should try disassembling the extruder to clean the gears. This clicking sound is probably the gears skipping. I’ve had a similar problem in the past that was fixed by cleaning some gunked up filament off of them. If not, they might simply be worn out.
