Hi, I have had my X1C for about two weeks now and right from the start I heard this ‘clicking’ noise when the print head assembly stops at the front left corner. What it sounds like is like Bowden tube hits the top glass plate. Is this normal? It is kind-of annoting and a bit concerning too. Do all X1Cs do that? Or is Bowden tubing too long or there is something the matter with the ‘chain’ assembly? And, should I even be concerned about it? If all X1Cs do that this is certainly a design flaw, with the top plate being too close to the XY assembly.
Anyway, your feedback is appreciated.
It’s normal just use a old bread tie or small piece of coated wire to constrain it to the cable below it, just keep it snug not tight, did it to mine
There is one C-clamp about half on the chain, but I guess that’s not enough. Do you mean to put a tie close to the bend before the hotend assembly. It has to be somewhat loose so the tubing can move freely along the chain axis. A tie wrap might work too to strap it just enough. About where did you place yours?

I tried the 3rd link just before the ‘bow’ and it is too restrictive for the extreme front left movement. The bowden tubing needs to slip over the chain onto its left side. I finally chose a spot halfway between the clip and the rear exit of the bowden tube. Let’s see how that goes. It seems to make the tube follow the chain better. If it will help with the ‘clonk’ sound I don’t know yet.
