Cloud File Transfer

Sorry if this has been answered before.

Is there a good reason why Bambu Studio cannot transfer the project file to the printer directly even when it is on the same network. It is taking much more time doing this double step.

there is supposed to be a firmware update addressing this. long standing issue.

There are people on reddit claiming that their failed cloud prints sometimes show up hours later without notice, and the printer just starts going to town. I haven’t experienced that, but that’s flat out dangerous. We need LAN mode. I also got a higher-speed microsd card to help with the in-print hangups that I’ve been seeing since the last update. It absolutely fixed that. But now, the printer needs the card formatted in FAT32, and windows needs it in exFAT. So I’m not confident I’ll be able to copy a file directly from my computer. So, this dumb cloud thing, and the pickiness on the microsd card (needs fast access, but small enough to be able to format in FAT), means that next time a print won’t send over cloud I likely can’t do it the manual way. Crazy.

Windows does not offer the option to format a large capacity micro SD card in FAT32, but there are many Windows utilities that will. I use RUFUS (https://rufus.ie) because it also works with USB drives and ISO files and can create bootable flash drives.

Very, very, very long standing issue. Mysterious thing is, despite pcs are on the same lan or wlan as the x1c, sometimes it works like a charm one, two or threee times sendings files directly to the printer and then suddenly, it stops working. ftp directory listing follows the same timetable as sending files.

It is very annoying!
