I bought the CMYK bundle,

Before I print anything, I hope to receive some advice for you.

  1. Would 1 AMS be enough for an acceptable lithophane?
  2. Should I get also a 0.2mm nozzle?

I intend to print a few family photos for friends as presents.

  2. Not neccessarily. You can do good lithopanes with the .4. More important is really the motive selection having few but clear contrasts. Still, .2mm prints will have a much finer resolution but need 8x more time. Your choice per pic really.

This is also for anyone else who reads this.

Keep in mind the lithophane pack contains four standard colours:

  • Bambu Lab PLA Basic Jade White
  • Bambu Lab PLA Basic Cyan
  • Bambu Lab PLA Basic Yellow
  • Bambu Lab PLA Basic Magneta

Using U.K. prices, the bundle costs £63.99 for one and £127.98 for two.

  1. Purchasing them as 4 separate refill filaments costs £55.96 with a free reusable spool *.
  2. Purchasing them as 4 separate filaments with spools costs £67.96.
  3. Purchasing two sets of 4 separate refill filaments 8 in total) costs £95.92 with two free reusable spools *.
  4. Purchasing two sets of 4 separate filaments (8 in total) with spools costs £119.92.

Savings

  1. £63.99 - £55.96 = £8.03
  2. £63.99 - £67.96 = -£3.97 (loss)
  3. £127.98 - £95.92 = £32.06
  4. £127.98 - £119.92 = £8.06

Three of these examples cost less than the original lithophane bundle price, and two of those have one or two free gifts.

Notes:

Lithophanes are transmissive and typically use the three CMY colors plus white so one AMS is just enough. HueForges might be confusing things. Those are lit from the front and can use lots of colors or just a few.

But they look really cool and people seem to like them as gifts with good photos.

Negative ghost rider :disappointed:. I got 7 bucks off every roll I just purchased (some were spooled, some refills, because purchasing more than 4 rolls).

The refills totaled 8, so I did get the two free spools, also bought 8 reusable spools which had a 7.00 discount per spool.

My order is arriving in 4 separate packages… 1 USPS, 1 FedEx, 2 UPS

4 x refill = $79.96 CAD
1 x lithophane = $11.38 CAD
1 x reusable spools = $0.00 CAD

= $91.34 CAD

This saves $4.65 and you get a free reusable spool.

If you bought 8 rolls at the same time then.

8 x refill = $135.92 CAD
1 x lithophane = $11.38 CAD
2 x reusable spools = $0.00 CAD

= $147.30 CAD

This saves $44.68 if you bought two together, plus, 2 free reusable spools.

I paid CAD$89.99 for 4 rolls, 4 reusable spools and the light. I think I forgot to order the 5th free spool.

The free spool is automatically added with 4 qualifying refill rolls. It’s not included with 4 filament rolls with spools

Does the regular bundle all include spools(not refills, but filament with spools)?

Yes, it does. Getting 4 spools was something I needed.

Good news! My AMS will be here Wednesday!(UPS, they’re bringing two that day)

Unfortunately, I’ve no idea when the hub will arrive (USPS)

If you bought the bundle, this comes with filament on spools, this would not have entitled you to a free reusable spool as that only comes when you purchase refills as individual items (not in a bundle) and none of those filaments in the bundle were refills anyway.
