Probably less than 10 hours of printing on this one. Any idea what would cause this? Is it even usable without the coating?
Get it warrantied. Let it be bambu’s problem to figure out.

Never used Bambu for a warranty, what are the steps? I don’t see a link on the site.
Thanks, submitted.I bought 2 when I ordered the H2D to H2C upgrade a couple of weeks ago, and I have another 4 coming tomorrow. Troublesome to think they might go like this.
Bambu wont warranty nozzles as they are considered consumables, only if it’s brand new and failed right away like it did for OP, just a heads up.
How new is brand new? Ordered May 20, received May 26, so today is 10 days.
Should be covered I think, open a ticket.
Hope so. The second HF 0.6 nozzle was unused until an hour ago and is happily printing away on a single color print as I type, looks fine so far. Overall since it became an H2C it has 97 hours, almost all on 0.4 standards.
This is the reply to my warranty request:
Please note that the hotend is considered a consumable part and is therefore not covered under warranty.
Additionally, the coating peeling in this case should not affect the normal functionality of the hotend.
We recommend continuing to use it as normal — it should not impact your print quality or performance.
I would tell them it’s brand new and insist on a replacement.
I didn’t “insist” but I gave them the order dates and the order number so they definitely knew it was new. If they are right that it doesn’t matter (why is it there?) I won’t care. We’ll see. The coating is plastic over a metal foil, both of which were damaged.
Mine are chipping too, but not as bad as yours. Only little spots. Also, I have used mine for a lot of prints. Not really happy about how fast these are wearing out.
The only thing I can think the coating is for is to help with filament sticking to it, other than that, its probably cosmetic. The foil could be to help with retaining heat? I wonder if its due to the inconsistent and varied heat cycles on the H2C.
