Comment / Rating Record for each user

I’ve been a Reddit member for more than 10 years, as well as myriad other social networks and platforms, but what I love about Reddit over everything else is the ability to downvote, and second, the ability to see all the comments and posts a user has made by visiting that user’s profile.

The reason I mention this is because I’ve just received a 3 star rating for one design by a user who’s profile page is a blank slate, the rating as expected wasn’t accompanied by an image or a comment. How are we to know what’s wrong with such interactions?

I don’t really know the reason why someone would make it their life’s mission to go and rate negatively all over the place, but I’m sure there are people like that. I, In any case if we as users could see the a user’s history I bet we could help BL weed out a bunch of users who only worsen the experience for everyone.

I’m not saying the rating is or isn’t deserved, I’m just saying there could be people just intent on tanking the site.

It’s my understanding that prints that don’t complete are limited to a 3 star rating ( reference ). My guess is that this is to prevent bots spamming 5 star ratings. In your case I would assume the user didn’t complete the print for one reason or another and just clicked the submit button to clear the notification. I wouldn’t take it to heart.

I gather that, but it’s the only rating I’ve gotten for this specific design which has only 14 prints. so everything for this specific profile is hanging on a rating without any backing to it.

I thought you couldn’t leave a 3 or lower without a comment.

The whole start rating system is flawed in my opinion, its purely random for some people it seems and varies depending how they feel on the day. I’d much rather delete it all together and leave comments. At the very least if ratings are important it should be tangible in tick box form with *printed, *functions/looks as described, *recommended or similar.

End of the day, 3star ratings are often throwaway accounts where they are never accountable. I had one model that copped a legitimate 3star and conversed with the person and modified/uploaded a version that suited his needs. They revised their rating/comment and both parties were happy. I’ve had other 3stars and less that never replied to my query, simply reported and they went away.
