Competition question

I have had a design in a recent competition and did not get any podium places, which is fair enough as I might have misunderstood the competion scope a bit. Would be great to be able to get some feedback on why my model was not worthy of a top placement. Will it always be removed from a competition if it is not in scope? Just wan’t to know if my design just sucks, or it is just bad luck because others have made better designs.

Peace out

Models that are unrelated to contests can be reported/removed; many people in the past purposefully uploaded non-related models just for more visibility.

As for feedback, there are hundreds of submissions and would take quite a lot of work to write feedback for every model on why it didn’t win.

Contests and competitions not always make sense to those taking part.
More often than not you find an awful of entries that YOU would have place on the podium while some that were declared a winner might not even be creative enough in your view.

Some use a panel of judges, other do it based on user votes/feedback to get the candidates worthy for a price consideration.
I have been in the game long enough to no longer bother as there is no real contests that make sense if you ask me.
The rules are fishy and incomplete best, often more confusing than explaining.

If you enter in the hopes of winning you are already doing things wrong…
Come with no expectations and just ignore things until the winners are declared.
Did not makes it? Boo-hoo! Check what made the others win, where you can improve on design and presentation features and try again in the next contest.
If you are not after fame and freebies you can always register with places like Etsy or Cults3D to provide free and paid models.
And if no one downloads them there you at least won’t have hopes of winning a contest shattered.
On the other hand, if your model stand out and attracts enough people you can make far more money than with these contests…

Would be great to see your model and know what contest you joined.

It this: Handgolf - A modular garden game by emilskibsted - MakerWorld

Contest was Celebrating Sports.

Hi @emilskibsted

Was the model removed from completion or not awarded?

Well it seems you uploaded a completely new game made by you while the contest asked to celebrate (current) sports.
Furthermore you uploaded it the day before the contest ended.

Yes I know I uploaded it late, but still before the contest ended. Should not matter if you uploaded it early or late though if I am not wrong?

What I would like to know if Bambu disquallyfied my partition in the competition or it just was not good enough (which is alright if it was not tbh). I used a lot of time to get it ready before the competition ended, so if it was all for nothing, I would rather like to save it for another contest, where it actually will qualify if you know what I mean?

Your wasn’t disqualified. Usually BambuLab notifies you in this case.

Personally I love your design, and I can tell you devoted lots of time into it. I wouldn’t say its not good enough, but the reason why I didn’t decide to print it out was because that it was simply too complicated, both how your files were setup and how you wrote your rules. Makerworld tends to choose designs that are easier to print and in some sense more straightfoward as many are looking to printout the winning designs, this is just my guess

Thx m8. Yea I know it could be less complicated overall, but the time I had before the competition ended was scarce so this was the best it could get in that timeframe.
I will consider making a “lighter” version of the rules so people who might not know the rules of golf, still will be able to have fun with it. Also I will consider fitting a simple 1-3 holes setup on a single plate, so it will be easier to try it out initially…
