Concerning the Lead Screws May Need Lubrication message

Hey there!

I just received the Lead Screws May Need Lubrication message. I received my machine 4 weeks ago and haven’t printed more than 50 hrs on it. Is this a reasonable time period for this maintenance?

The Wiki states “approx every 3 months”.

What parameter do you suppose it’s using to justify the message? Increase torque needed to turn the screws, or simply an every 3 month reminder from time machine was built?

Thanks,
Stu

Hello,
The message can appear due to the timer set in the firmware.
If the printer is new, there is no reason for concern. Just confirm you have done the maintenance in the firmware and it will go away.
Thanks

Thanks, Ciprian !

Much appreciated!

I received the message and I performed lubrication. But I am still getting the message. Does that mean I missed something (I greased all 3 Z-screws, and oiled the X & Y bars), or that I did not use enough lubricant?

Did you acknowledge the maintenance message from the printer’s control panel? Under Settings–Maintenance you will find the lead screw option. Acknowledgement resets the timer.
