Conical Slicing

Can Bambu Slicer do it? Would be nice!

Not at this time. It allows prints with overhangs that would otherwise need support, but seems a rather niche idea to me. Maybe someday.

I’m interested to know why you would want this.

just for fun, never know when i would need it

CNC Kitchen on YouTube has done several videos on it. It is an experimental method right now. As stated, it would virtually eliminate the need for supports in most cases.

Like all experimental things, it is going to take a lot of R&D to get it viable and then to market. Maybe in another 5 years we might see it in some slicers.

Maybe I arrived late to the discussion, but to clarify, it is possible to use conical slicing in almost any FDM printer. The only hardware limitation is regarding the nozzle clearance. I did not measure the X1C nozzle clearance, but I will check during the next extruder maintenance. For anyone using third-party components, this will be easily achieved.
Besides hardware, you must use the Michael Wüthrich algorithm, which requires fundamental Python knowledge.

I wouldn’t advise testing the conical slicing in the X1C unless you are confident about the background. As with any R&D, issues will occur before success, and you may benefit from a more customizable printer.

Avoiding supports and enabling shapes that can otherwise not be printed.
I would really love to have 3D ironing so surfaces up to about 20 degree could have stellar surface quality
