The last three contests have been great successes that attracted nearly 1,700 new uploads to MakerWorld and we are extremely grateful for your support. More and more creators and designers are starting to participate in our contests and becoming crucial members to our community. Your voices are the building blocks of MakerWorld, while each and every upload are the foundation to what we are trying to build: a place where everyone can share and print whatever it is you are passionate about.
Now, let us announce our next three contest themes.
01/22: Valentine’s Day Design Contest——Prepare for the most romantic time of the year with your designs and we’ll find out who is the most charming partner!
01/29: Let There Be Light Design Contest—— Play around the element of light with designs that brightens up your life! Light sources must be incorporated into the design and feel free to try out our new PETG Translucent filaments!
02/05: Pills Organizer Design Contest——Preparing daily pills and supplements can be tiresome, especially when travelling. Here is your chance to help out those in need! Tools should instruct people clearly on what to take, how much to take and when to take it.

Hello the team .
thank you very much for theses contests . This is amazing ! But I have 2 suggestions.
1/ 10’days before a lamp contest ’is too’short . Its a big project, and I need to order some stuff for lamp . Here its take about 15 days to’come home .
2/ Sadly I have post one few days ago … why say that only new desing can go on contest ? Some of our design have been imported from printables and thingiverse and done for a long time but are good and could be known by the printers . I love to publish all what I do , because I dont wait contest to create a lot of things . we have work hard for old design too . Maybe it will be less copy of our design that are stolen and post in contest if we can add them even if they are publish before the contest. We would like to start off by thanking your support. We’ve seen some of your work and is honored to have your talent as part of our community. Now let’s address your concerns.
- Our ‘Let there be light’ Contest starts 10 days from now and will last for up to 3 weeks. This gives you at least a month to prepare and submit your work so time is on your side. In the future we will work on getting our contest schedules out as soon as possible and provide as much time for makers as possible.
- We are sure you’ve worked very hard for your older designs and you are more than welcome to post all of your past work on MakerWorld. However, specifically for contests, you will need new designs in order to be considered for winning because we cannot award contestants for simply reposting their older designs: this would devalue our other winning designs. For remixes, modifications from the original model has to be deemed significant in order to be considered. What we will do is to make sure that stolen models will not receive any credits or recognition that they don’t deserve. You can always report stolen models or contact us directly if you believe others have plagiarized your work.
