This kind of thing happens to everyone, and I don’t think it’s productive to try to be as possessive over concepts, especially ones that aren’t wholly original to you. You might have put your spin on it, but even with that, it isn’t such a stretch as to be able to try and shut others down. We may not always like the attention others get when they ride the coat tails we created, but that’s the reality of life sometimes and it does us more harm to dwell on it, then to just move on.
This stuff happens to me. Like my retro tv, and then someone made one they submitted to the contest. It’s maybe easier to deal with or whatever because the other person’s model didn’t win anything, but still. It just doesn’t matter, and it wouldn’t matter if that person did win. There’s room for both of us to bring our vision of such a thing to light, and there’s no need for me to try and muscle someone else just because I was the first one here with such a device. I mean shoot, I even found an article that mentioned that person’s version of the tv as it was in the contest. I didn’t get that free marketing. Obviously I’m not the first person either to make such a model.
