Cost and running expense

I can’t seem to stop spending. I’ve bought the Bambu P1S and a few filaments, then I discover that many prints require PETG which means I have to buy a dryer (Polymaker ordered) > How much does all this add to the electric bill?

It depends on how much you print…
My printing Stuff is connected to a smart plug, which tracks down how much Energy is used.

I printed and dryed a lot last Week, the prediction is 450 kWh per year for a X2D and a Creality Space Pi on heavy rotation…

Depends on your area. Like our price per kwh is about 10c per.

The price to run a printer is negligible compared to running all other appliances, AC, etc.

Maybe 3 to 6 dollars a month

I have my printer & filament dryer on an inexpensive TP-Link Monitoring Smart Plug that monitors power usage. (I also have a P1S and prefer PETG for most of my prints.) The printer runs around 100 hours a month.

Power costs me about $0.31/kWh. In April, my setup used 8.4 kWh and cost me $2.59. In March it was 9.6 kWh and $2.97.

So… not nearly as much as I expected when I bought the printer!
