So this morning, I was told by support it doesn’t support custom filament. I understand it might not support it being selected from the screen on the A1 possibly, however shouldn’t I be able to select it from Bambu handy? when I add items to the AMS? I can do that with my P1S, I just don’t understand why I cannot create the custom profile in bambu labs and then load a spool on the AMS Lite and select - this is my filament I am loading so it is available to use in bambu handy while I am loading the filament. I have 0 problem with the P1S the profiles are built and working on that printer, I have logged in and out of Bambu Lab application, website, Bambu Handy, logged in and out of the Printer - and the custom filaments don’t show up to be selected in Bambu handy for the Lite AMS in Bambu Handy. Is this normal?
Can anyone load a custom filament to a A1/AMS Lite? ie creating a custom filament with a custom profile ie bed temp/flow rate/etc in Bambu Studio, that is accessable within Bambu Handy (at least on another printer) to select on the AMS Lite when they load a new spool? or am I crazy thinking this should be available as I can do that with my P1S.
Ok, it has been over a year and still no custom filaments are available for the A1 or A1 mini from what I can find. I email support and get - this isn’t available, you must program it in bambu studio and use it from here. Ok that is great and all however to use some of the custom filament I have specific settings and bed temps. So how does that work if I want to kick off a job while standing in front of the printer and/or want to load a different roll of filament?
I think we a community we should have this updated - how many people have purchased a printer and deserve to have this implemented finally on the printer and AMS? I am reading posts from all over the internet well over a year ago with this same issue.
Does anyone know how to add a custom filament that can be seen on the A1 and/or AMS lite? I am guessing the Mini is in the same boat, we have LOTS of different filament types and custom settings that we would like to be able to use - even if it is a 5 degree difference on the bed with X filament, or a Max Volumetric Speed = 10 instead of 15, to get a little better quality on a print. Items that are a simple tweak, being required to do it from a PC every time and manually switch a setting (filament selected) in the application to use this setting. Coming down the road soon we will not even have a choice on what print application we would want to use on the P1S, A1, and A1 mini - and we still cannot choose the custom filament on the A1 and A1 mini?
I know they fixed it on the P1S - please let’s get this fixed on the A1 - how many 10’s of thousands need to be sold before that is updated/fixed?
