Hey guys. New to 3D printing here. I just installed Bambu Studio and was playing around with it and learning all about it. I read about being able to install custom fonts into the software. I was able to successfully install the custom fonts based on the tutorials I’ve read. They show up in the dropdown in Bambu Studio when I choose to add text and select a font.
However, when I type some text out with the custom font selected, it just shows as a standard Helvetica/Arial instead of the actual custom font itself. Any ideas what’s going on here?
Does the issue occur only with custom or other OS default fonts?
Does it happen with all the custom fonts or specific one(s)?
Can you provide a font example? If so, I (or others) can try replicating the issue and help.
Hi Jcy, I had this issue and from further researching, I think I have found the solution…
Once you have downloaded the font, if it is in a zip file, first you need to extract to a location on your computer. Then, rather than opening the file and installing, you want to right click the file and select “Install for all users”.
Truetype fonts are stroked, meaning they are made up of strokes to form the outline of the font. Fancy fonts sometimes have self-intersection geometry and this causes problems, I used get this often with Inventor. BambuStudio is quite forgiving in this regard, however it most probably also has limitations.
