Cut of Multi Color in v1.08 of BS resluts in single color object

When I put text on an object in Bambu Studio, The Text is a different color than the base object, I use the cut tool to make the text flat with the top of the object and then flip it to print so that the text will have the bed texture. This worked in version 1.07.07.89 but when I do this in version 1.08.02.56 the entire object gets changed to a single color and not even the color that the object was originally. I tried slicing to verify and it slices a single color and all of the work coloring is lost until I undo the cut. I had to go back to version 1.07.07.89 of Bambu Studio to make the cut and then it would slice correctly in the new version of Bambu Studio.

I just noticed this today as well. Was working fine on the previous version.

Having the same problem. I was looking into tutorials on youtube showing the process and they were able to cut an object with color and keep the color. I wasn’t able to reproduce that on my Bambu Studio. When I cut, the colors are removed and the object becomes 1 (when I embed text in a shape). I also foudn that the option “Assemble” is not there anymore.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon. someone found any workarounds?

A fix would be nice, I was using the cut tool a lot before they broke it.
The only workarounds that I have found are either use Bambu Studio Version 1.07.07.89 or use Orca slicer to do the cut. I tried cutting a model in orca slicer and the colors were not lost, I could then save it and bring it into Bambu Studio and the colors remain.

I’m afraid i’m quite late to this but here’s my workaround for printing a multicolor model in 2 or more pieces:

  • measure the exact height of your multicolor model (there’s a tool in bambu studio)
  • copy your model so you have 2 of it next to oneanother
  • rotate one by 180
  • use the move tool to move both models partially UNDER the work surface by exactly the amount it takes to make sure the surfaces will line up later. you’ll have to do some calculations to make sure of that.
    most simple example: if your model is 100 units tall, move both copies under the work surface by 50 units.
  • slice your model. bambu studio will only slice the parts of the model that are situated above the work surface.

this does not work perfectly, but it’s the best i got.
