Cutter Error

Hello,
I’m hoping to get some help here because I can’t find any solutions. A few days ago, I had a clog. After clearing the clog, I started getting a cutter sensor message. Since then, I’ve followed the wiki and confirmed there’s no clog, confirmed the cutter can move freely and isn’t stuck. I reconnected the sensor as it says on the Wiki. I’ve taken apart the extruder and nozzle, to check for debris. I’ve done a factory reset and replaced the cutter blade. I continue to see the error and have submitted a ticket but I’m hoping someone here might have a solution. A few posts said they reconnected all connected in the print head but that hasn’t worked for me. I can’t print anything :frowning:

I assume you are looking at the above set of directions.
If so and you find the hardware is good then the next likely problem is the hall effect sensor and wiring cable/connector. These pictures don’t match my P1P well but it looks to me the top connector is the one to check/fix.

Thanks. Yeah that’s the article I followed. There’s one part specifically to the P1P that I tried. The rest of the connections don’t match. Most I’ve gone through the steps I can but no luck yet.

There was a statement about bent connector pins. When I had my extruder apart I felt like they packed the connectors too close together making it hard to push them in straight. The wires coming off the connectors interfere with the next connector. I guess you could check for the hall effect censor by using a hand magnet and probing the connector. Wouldn’t be nice to have a schematic. For a typical sensor you would need to measure DC voltage at the connector. Don’t know what parts you would need to repair.

Hi,
Did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem - I removed the extruder to clear a clog, but now I get the cutter error message. Everything looks fine to me. I am going to try swapping in a new extruder. I am thinking that maybe I damaged the sensor cable. Thanks!

Quick Update – it was the sensor cable. Replacing the sensor solved the problem.

I had to replace the sensor as well when my p1p did this a few months back, unfortunatly for me at the time the board with the sensor was unavailable and i had to purchase an entire extruder assembly to repair the issue. I havent checked since that time if the sensor board is currently available but seems to me that its a kinda common problem so ill be ordering a few extras to keep on hand due to the number of machines i have that i need to keep running once they are available.

Hi ssimak, which sensor cable? The filament sensor? I’m having the exact same trouble and want to fix it pronto! Thanks!

Yes, the Extruder Filament Sensor. You can buy one in the Bambu Store.

Thankyou!!! I wish they would have this info on the troubleshooting page…

Hello Guys! I had today the same problem, i disassemble the extruder for removing a clog then installed again and the error appears, the only thing i do is a sequence of: shutdown, unplug cable sensor, plug sensor and turn on, done this at least 3 times after this all working good
