Cutter issue after swapping hotend

Hello,

I have a Bambu P1S (no AMS), and my cutter isn’t working after a hotend disassembly to diagnose a clog. I ended up switching the hotend with a replacement, but the cutter issue appeared afterwards. When I try to unload filament, the arm does not try to move. I also get an error saying the hotend cooling fan is too slow or stopped when it is trying to unload (the fan isn’t moving at all during this attempt). However, if I turn on the part fan from the front panel, it works fine.

I have gone through the wiki page for a stuck cutter, but none of these suggestions have helped. Specifically, I have checked/tried the following to attempt to resolve it:

  • Confirmed that the connectors from the hot end and fan cover are connected correctly (checked/reseated many times)
  • Confirmed that the magnet is present
  • Made sure the cutting arm moves and springs back when pushed manually
  • Verified that the cutting blade is positioned correctly
  • Replaced the entire hotend assembly in case the issue was damaged wires

What else could be causing this issue? Thank you in advance for any advice!

There’s some pretty good discussion of exactly this issue here:
