Cutter process types and tools in BambuSuite

I am using BambuSuite and the cutter to mock-up complex packaging in cardstock. This is working very well, but there are essential features that would be a great addition to the workflow.

An essential feature for packaging is the ability to set different cutting or embossing settings for line types or layers/groups. Currently there is one default process type for cutting – Basic Cut. Ideally, just as the laser has different cutting or marking settings, there would also be additional cutting settings such as score, or crease. Perhaps these can be added by the user, or are preset for each material.

The value of score is to either easily bending of the material, or simply lightly marking it precisely to manually crease at that location.

For a crease feature, there could be a swappable tool that could work like many industry devices with a roller ball or small wheel to impress a fold line on the material.

The workflow would then be to import a vector file with different layers, define the material, mapping line types to each process type, with a pause if there needs to be a tool swap for a crease tool.

The problem is the cutter/plotter is just a gimmick at this point with no real support or development from BL, as evidenced by the awful Bambu Suite software. It is currently not a useful tool because the Suite software is so incapable and tedious to use.

100% agree with 1728865953. The cutting module could be a great tool (and open up a significantly larger market by attracting a whole universe of crafting oriented users) with just the addition of a few features. Adding settings, and perhaps an additional tool, for emboss, score and crease would be a game changer. A straightforward approach for processing the reverse side of the stock, including flipping the layer orientation and accurate registration, would also be very welcome. None of this seems particularly difficult if Bambu wants to do it.
