I have an H2S & H2D (neither have the laser). I just ordered the Cutting Upgrade Kit, and expect it any day now. I am thinking about buying the Birds Eye Camera to help with the cutting. On the sales page, it states the below:
”
When paired with H2C, the Birds Eye Camera requires the Laser Module for calibration. Without it, the camera cannot function with the Cutting Upgrade Kit for photo capture. Support for calibration without the Laser Module will be added in a future firmware update.
”
Since it only mentions the H2C, does this mean that if I buy the Birds Eye Camera for either (or both) my H2S or H2D, that the Cutting Upgrade Kit will be able to use the camera (so I don’t need to use their mobile app that I read about)?
That’s just the page not being updated for H2C actually, all current firmwares H2D/H2S/H2C allow the bird-eye camera to be used and calibrated with the cutting module only, no need for the laser
Yes, upgrade to 01.02 firmware and it does work. I did it yesterday. It appears it needs to be calibrated every time you attach the cutter module or move the cutter build plate, and it takes a few minutes to calibrate. There doesn’t seem to be a way to view the birds eye camera. Its just used to “recognize” your material, which it only seems to do 50% of the time, anyway.
Thank you so much @user_482380812, that is great information. I will go order a Birds Eye Camera for my H2D, as think it will help a lot with alignment.
