Cyberbrick Kickstarter price unchanged

It seems the prices haven’t changed since the tariff war. It will definitely be affected by Trump 145% tariff. Maybe Kickstarter won’t let BL change it after campaign has started. Maybe BL is hoping a deal will be reached before they start shipping the orders.

And maybe BL has them sitting in a warehouse already since they are going to start shipping to backers immediately after the kickstarter ends.

That is my understanding. However, wasting time speculating on this circus is exhausting.

This update just came out. It’s a little confusing, they were prepared to start shipping on April 15th, but now they are talking about “delays in the production line”. Wouldn’t they need to have already been fully assembled if they were going to ship on April 15? The low-level firmware thing is also confusing, surely the modules have a built-in firmware update capability from the app. Almost everything needs a day-one update these days before you can use it, why would they need to reprogram the existing boards?

:hourglass_flowing_sand: Shipping Delayed to May 15th

Over the past few weeks, we’ve gathered valuable feedback from early testing with creators. To deliver the best experience possible, we’re working hard to implement additional features and improve the reliability of both the Desktop and Mobile Apps. This also includes corresponding updates to the low-level firmware on the microcontrollers, which have resulted in delays in the production line.

As a result, we will need to postpone the shipping and software release to May 15th. We sincerely apologize for the delay, but we believe this extra time will allow us to provide a more polished and reliable product. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We’ll begin collecting your shipping addresses and other fulfillment information through a survey on April 15th.

@CyberBrick In the US, the “de minimis” $800 exemption ends May 2nd, so if the backer rewards are still overseas now and you were planning on shipping them individually into the US waiting till May 15 could be a very very costly delay.

When i backed the project in kickstarter, the confirmation email stated an estimted delivery of May 2025. Does that mean now it will be almost June before we receive the kits?

LOL! THAT may be one of the things that’s missing!

In any case, this is disappointing. I was working on a game for my Granddaughter. I was toying with rolling my own controllers using ESP-Now, but decided to wait since I’d be getting the Cyberbrick components soon. Ha! Back to my DIY approach…
