Problems with D02 Nozzle (0.2 mm) – Bambu Lab

Hello everyone!

I want to share a serious issue I’ve encountered with the D02 (0.2 mm) nozzle from Bambu Lab. Although I used this nozzle in the past without issues, now I simply cannot get a proper print.

Everything started after Bambu Lab released a recent update for the printer, and since then, problems have appeared. I’ve tried every possible setting, cleaned the nozzle, checked alignment, and applied all suggestions (including AI tips).

Here’s the problem:

Initially, the print starts well, but after a few layers, the filament stops extruding and the nozzle prints air.

Even if I restart the print or clean the nozzle, the issue comes back.

With the D04 (0.4 mm) nozzle, printing works, but the print quality is much lower compared to D02.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it? Any advice is appreciated.

What type of filament are you using?

I made these keychains using two different settings:

The black and white version (PLA ) was printed with in april, a 0.2 mm nozzle, providing a visible thickness and strong contrast.

The black and grey version was printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

I’ve noticed similar behavior with the D02 nozzle, especially after the recent firmware update. Filament flow becomes inconsistent, especially on finer layers. I tried to stabilize the print by setting the layer height to 0.16 mm with a 0.2 mm nozzle, aiming for a standard setup. Unfortunately, the issue persists and seems to be related to a pressure or flow calibration problem introduced with the update.
