I opened up a support ticket, asking them to replace the 4 defective rolls received in the latest order. I will let you know the outcome of my request.
Same I just opened a ticket to replace two jade-white basic spools, the latest ones I got are as opaque as PLA Matte white, basically ruining any light-transmissive prints like lithophanes or hueforges, Iâm using it for a lamp shade: Inconsistent PLA Basic Jade White spools?
Thanks for the tip about Hatchbox rolls, I tried a periwinkle blue from them and had really great print quality, I wonder if anyone has a database or google sheet sort of thing where people have identified which 3rd party filaments work with Bambu Lab default settings to use the RFID tags with.
If you search MakerWorld for Hatchbox and RFID youâll find a couple of holders for RFiD tags to use with them. I bet there are models to fit them to other brands and maybe the also list colors.
I am using dbnewellâs version but it only holds a tag on one side. PennyDâs version holds the full strips with tags on both sides like Bambuâs rolls. Just one RFID tag means it can need to be flipped from side to side if itâs moved to a different slot but you can tag twice as many rolls.
Iâm not aware of a table of colors that work with the settings but so far for me Hatchbox Beige is working fine. dbnewell reported good results with black.
repying to myself to update lol: Bambu support is replacing my two spools as well, in the meantime I tried Sunlu PLA White as a replacement for light fixtures and lithophanes and it is a great 1:1 replacement, I used BBL basic PLA settings (probably going to swap the RFID tags) and it worked flawlessly. fingers crossed the replacement PLA Baisc White are actually the original and not this newer one.
Update: I was very wrong to blame the filament. The problem was an incorrect K-factor.
Did you change the k-factor or was the automatically assigned one wrong?
What value did you set?
I performed a dynamic flow calibration. One roll got 0.015 the other 0.02. Both White Jade PLA.
No idea how the k-factor got erased before that.
