Designer option to allow external Print Profiles

Feature request. When uploading your Model to MakerWorld let the Designer have option to either “Allow” or “Deny” Print Profiles from the general population. As a sweetener for allowing others to post you’d receive 1xPoint for every Print off that profile(not download).

This would give the element of control without killing the idea of community input. The way I see it, I put the effort to upload a design only to find someone else has uploaded a profile that follows the rules but does not fully appreciate my vision. Pretty soon I’m either finding ways to report them or just pulling out all together.

Whilst denying external profiles is attractive in effectively stopping star people from hitching a ride on your popularity, it can detract in the same sense as it kills the spirit of sharing knowledge (other peoples input).

Perhaps as a variation or additional option, deny profiles unless they are for a printer the designer’s profile doesn’t support?

So far that is the only value I can see in additional profiles, especially if creating them for multiple copies or different color variations is discouraged. Having parts positioned and placed on the number of plates needed is nice, but may need tweaking for smaller beds.

I only use the designer’s profiles, but I also don’t print using Handy so there may be some value there.

There is value in seeing others input, though I’d much prefer to see it in comment form. If my model is open to remix etc in licence then its fair game, but to simply add walls or raise layer height is plain taking the proverbial. In the end some of the latest rule changes have been due in part to the unhappiness of bogus PP’s.

I can appreciate a good design and use their Profile, I will always leave comment and rating afterwards (with any tweaks or suggestions if needed).

The Handy app is great and it does have certain control, though advanced “tuning” is something it probably lacks but I’m ok with that.
