Detailed information about the meaning of settings

Hi there,

I’m trying to understand the more detailed settings within Bambu Lab Studio. There is still a lot for me to learn. But to find out the optimal settings for my print and the material I use, it would be helpfull if I would understand better what the settings mean or what they do.

For example. I’m trying to find out what the “Wall Loop” setting does. I’m using the Dutch software, and the ‘tip’ that pops up when hovering over the setting says (translated): “change the amount of walls within 1 layer”. This does not make much sense to me, as the amount of walls also depends on what I am printing at that moment. I would think this setting makes the wall thicker, but that’s not what the description says.

Would it help to switch to the English software for better hints? What does the “Wall Loop” setting exactly do?
Is there no detailed manual with accurate description of each setting? Couldn’t find it on the Bambu Wiki.

Thanks for getting me in the right direction.

Cheers,

Paul

Wall loops is the number of outer wall-lines you get at your print. More wall would increase the strenght.

If you will check this, take a model an slice it, then make a cut in a middle layer an watch at the line-type.
After this, change the amount of wall loops and you will see the change in your sliced model.

Thanks Christian, that makes sense.

No problem.

To find settings for the filament you use, there would be a possibility with Orca-Slicer

I’ve found it helpful to keep a search engine open in my browser when trying to understand the settings. Search “3d print wall loop” or more generally, “something_to_ provide_context unknown_term”.

As I look at the different settings, the context stays the same and I just change the terms.
