I’m doing a lot of detailed prints lately, birds and stuff. I’ve been printing with the ASA as the support for the ASA model. Its a pain to get off, and in the real detail spots like between feathers its all but impossible. I’m looking at HIPS as a support interface since it should break off easier. I’m still concerned about the detailed spots though. I know it can be dissolved in d-limonene, but it seems like an expensive option. Will using a cleaner with d-limonene be enough or does it need to be the expensive pure stuff?
Bambu Support for ABS is a great formulation of HIPS with some additives and snaps off very cleanly from ABS and ASA. I never need to use d-limonene, even for complex objects. Its also pretty cheap, so I would recommend you get the Bambu stuff instead of generic HIPS.
