Diagnose this noise in my X1C

My X1C has been making belt scraping noise for a long time and it is getting progressively worse. Prints come out just fine, and I haven’t been able to identify exactly where the issue is.

The noise happens mostly when the hotend is moving on the X axis, left to right back and forth.

Here is a little video I made of the noise.

Has anyone run into this and know the solution?

Incidentally despite appearances in the video the prints do usually come out fine.

Re-run the full resonance calibration.

Both belts move for almost every motion of the printhead. As do the steppers. If it was belts or steppers, you should also hear it when, for example, the print head is moving diagonally.

I think something’s loosened up a little (like, a metal panel or something similar), and the stepper motor motion is exciting a vibration that causes it to “buzz”.

I don’t think this can be coming from the motion stage itself.

It was a good idea to run the resonance calibration but it had no effect. I agree with your assessment. I have also determined that the scraping/buzzing noise only happens on the lower belt and in the back left corner, when viewed from the door. But I can’t tell from the front what the issue is or if something is loose back there. I will likely need to take the back panel off sometime and take a look.
