Dont think its that, why would different currencies make a difference?
It is the points earned from Makerworld that are redeemable not real world cash. As far as I am aware the points scheme for contributing to Makerworld is standardised globally and you are awarded the same amount of points wherever in the world you are, so why the difference.
You are onto something there. I can sorta see that the giftcards might be priced differently, due to variations in global currencies as that is redeemable for cash to spend instore. But the kits surely should be the same cost to redeem, there is only a single cost to manufacture them.
Maybe its just me being a grinch cuz its 151 in the UK🤣
………and could I just order it via the Global section for 132?
If the system for earning points is designed to give the same number of points for the whole world for certain actions, such as creating and uploading a model, then the points must be worth the same. Why should a product be worth less if someone from region X buys it and worth more if someone from region Y buys it? At most, the same product is worth different amounts if it is produced in different regions.
The kits should be redeemable worldwide at the same value, not vary by region.
This makes it more difficult/expensive for certain areas to redeem their points for exactly the same reward. They are contributing more to the site by having to upload or comment on prints for the same reward (in my case the lamp kit) If the points are standardised worldwide then the points needed for redeemable rewards should be standardised as well.
It isn’t much difference, but its enough to annoy!
No I didn’t. They have been sold out for awhile in the UK. In the end I just waited til I had 535 points and went for the £35 voucher. I’ve had 4 vouchers now totalling £140 and spent it all on spare parts.
