Digitally Painting With Different Colors Than In AMS

To begin, I searched here and I tried to RTFM. I’m a n00b but have had good success learning fairly quickly. But…

I have a detailed STL file that I would like to print in a few days. I don’t yet have the correct PLA filament and would like to paint the file and save for printing. How can I print with colors that are not in the AMS?

Secondly, can I paint File B while File A is printing? (This would possibly present my first problem as well… printing with a color/filament that is not in the AMS)

I.E. If I have Red, Yellow, Blue, and White in the AMS (in that order) I can paint my file with those four colors, but I want to paint this with the yet to be received filament.

TIA

The filament in Bambu Studio doesn’t have to match what you have in the AMS. Think of it as a library, you can add any filament type/colour you want in studio that you want to paint your model with. When you send the print to the printer, you match the colours you painted with to the colours that the printer reports from the AMS.

Yes you can paint a different model while the printer is printing. Studio sends the whole print job at the start when you slice/send it.
