Display the device name largely on printer screen

There is no easy way to identify these machines from a distance without printing some name plaque to mount on the machine somewhere which is completely unnecessary given the screen on the front of the printer.

Could you update the firmware so that it displays the name of the machine on the home screen in big bold letters? I also think it would be nice to have the option to just display only the machine name after a set amount of screen idle time like a screensaver…

Bambu is pretty bad at user interface, but of all the things I’d like to see larger on the screen, the printer name isn’t one of them, as it doesn’t change and I don’t have to tap on it. Just print a label and stick it on the front. I’d rather have the screen turn off than to display something static. If it were to display anything, it would be print progress.

I’m guessing you have multiple printers. A work around would be to rename the printers based on their location, eg., “left”, “center”, and “right” or “top shelf”, “Bob’s desk”, and “basement”.

But there is literally a screen right there to display it, why tape? And it would be optional, so you could have yours turn off to save 1 penny a year but people like me that would like it on would have the option.

I think the best option would be if one could choose what to show at that big empty space on the right.
I for one would really like more space for (file)name of what is currently printing. The current space is way way to short for prints with useful (file)names. (same goes for the file-list on the SD-card tab of the screen)

I printed an insert that changes the toolhead light color. I have a few X1Cs and are named after characters from Rocky Horror (LOL) … so Magenta is a Magenta light, Columbia is a Yellow Light, etc … this way I can look over and see the printer and know which is which
