Distortions in vase mode

Hi,

I’ve printed about 20 of these PLA Silk ornaments in vase mode on my P1P successfully but recently they all started failing on the base and twisted on the top. (see photos

I’ve made sure the plate was clean (dawn dish soap + warm water)

  • dried the filament
  • calibrated
  • tried different filament
  • tried the filament on my A1 and it prints fine
    Any ideas? Maybe the nozzle is clogged but then why would the print look ok after the base is done?

You have problem with cooling.
Basically, layer time too short so that previous layers get heated up to melting point as well

If you print two of these in parallel or use a purge tower you can passively increase cooling time.

I do notice my hotend fan has dust stuck to it. Tried using compressed air but still has a layer of dust. I wonder if this is causing cooling not to be working 100%
