2 days into this journey and haven’t considered fumes and particles. Not really my forté, but at the same there is a strong consensus that there is a great deal of toxicity being expelled from these printers. Does anyone have a solution I can introduce to make a Bambu P1S a healthier machine to be around?
Do the particles remain in a room that the printer has been used in?
There isn’t even a weak consensus that there is “a great deal of toxicity being expelled from these printers”.
Same as many others, I connected a hose to the back of my P1S that goes directly outside of the room (which is my home office as well). So far so good.
On “smelly” filaments, like ABS, I switch on the internal fan of the printer to push out the air inside of the P1S once the print is finished.

Another thing that helps in my case (I guess) is that the aircon is always on (tropical country), so the air pressure inside the room is higher and helps to push the fumes through the hose to the outside.
Thank you for that, amazing, great to see your setup. I guess I might have gone over the top having been down a rabbit hole of my own (with the help of Claude) and some other discussion on here. I really don’t want any fumes in the room. I have therefore dialled in an inline fan with speed control and I have bought a monitor to check the toxicity isn’t building up. Was just debating a room purifier as a belt and braces option but still looking into that.
