So I noticed the jade white I’ve been getting for my X1C seems very warm, to the point where it almost looks a bit yellow-y. Especially when you put it next to eSun or Flashforge white. Is this just a choice on their part, or do they offer a whiter white in other types of material?
The Bambu white ABS is a high temperature white. I also found the same “yellow-y” issue with the Bambu white ASA.
Almost all white filaments are not a true-white.
As with most filament suppliers, Bambu Lab sells a warm white which includes a tinge of yellow.
If you have ever seen the difference between LED house bulbs, they are described as warm-white or cool-white.
The only cool-white filament I have ever found is by Eryone.
I have bought several spools of these. These are the whitest of white, holding a normal white next to it makes the normal white look like it is stained.
The one on the left is white from Bambu Lab, and the one on the right is the Eryone cool white. Trust me, if the cool-white one wasn’t there, the one on the left would look nice and white.
Spotted this, a decent example of the variants available out there.
Thanks for the info, but I think you misunderstood me. I already have 2 brands which are a whiter, hence me noticing how warm the Bambu PLA is. My question was are any of the other materials Bambu do less warm than their PLA.
I’ve ordered some of their ABS to see how that is since it’s described as Mint white I’m hoping it’s a bit cooler. Shame they don’t do multiple shades of white in their PLA like eSun do.
Sorry, if this sentence wasn’t clear.
I meant…
To my knowledge; Bambu Lab doesn’t sell any whites other than those with the tinge of yellow.
Additional info:
The new filament swatches went up for sale recently, new unannounced filament colours have been included, but nothing in the pure white though.
eSun’s is called cold white and Flashforge is called ice white iirc
It turns out I also have a bunch of eSun Cold White spools, I just opened one and there it is, cold white.
If anything, I believe the cold/cool variants (not seen ice) have a tiny bit of blue in the mix. This is how LED light bulbs give the cool/cold white.
Yeah you’re right it’s actually going slightly the opposite way to warm. But the standard eSun and FF white is a purer white than Bambu’s, way less warm, especially after printing.
