so i wanna get an AMS HT to start working on TPU, but when i wanna use the dedicated TPU outlet, does the AMS even need to be plugged into Power or can i unplug it while feeding the material into my Printer through the outlet?
You can leave it plugged in. I accidentally unplugged it yesterday before feeding TPU and it worked as long as the data cable is connected but I never disconnect power normally.
The idea was because of my setup i need to have my AMS HT on one side and wanted to do use the TPU feeding assisst with the HT on the other side but without dragging all the cables and tubes to the other side
If it’s not connected at all, not even the data cable as long as the AMS-HT is the last in the chain, it will work. Otherwise the next AMS connected to the HT will not register but you may not care if you just want to use this one.
The AMS-HT feeding TPU through the outlet is nothing more than just an external spool holder.

Consider just moving the tube on the back of the HT to the TPU port and using that with the feed module, I’ve fed through the assist module a spool sitting 6 feet away and it worked just fine. Edit: May be a pain to feed the TPU that way though…
