I’m starting to run into a few people who are asking if I can print stuff for them. Generally I’ve just done it as it’s been family so far. But if others start to ask I’d like to at least try to recoup some of the filament costs.
To that end, when the software gives estimates like this:
Does that include purge towers and any purging that goes out the poop chute? I just want a base line to get a decent estimate.
I know this thread is aged, but I found it when I was wondering the same thing myself earlier this week and I just completed a large part that switched between four colours, so I weighed the finished part and the refuse and can confirm (what is shown in the slicer view) that the entire filament usage is counted in the total, not just the part.
Since there has been some interest shown in this thread recently, I thought I’d just share the current view as of Bambu Studio v2.1, as it is even clearer now where filament is being “used” and “wasted”, etc… and yes, the total shown in the print/send screen is the “total” still… including all flush, support and prime tower usage.
