After a print is sent to my A1 mini the device goes through a vibration compensation, nozzle tip cleaning, auto bed leveling, and calibrate dynamic flow which uses a lot of filament. If I change the filament during the print same thing. Does it have to go through all of this each time?
You can disable many of those actions if you don’t want them to happen.
It’s a ballance between putting the effort in to calibrate and maintain things so minimising the need to do them every time, or not doing those activities and have the system run them so it knows the state before it prints anything.
The search term to look for is “Startup Gcode” if you’re interested in altering what it does every time. Under the “Machine” profile in your slicer. There are some examples to be found, but ensure it is for YOUR specific device and of a recent-ish version, every printer SKU is different. In general, I do believe every bit of it has value for ensuring carefree prints. But your situation might be different!
I remove the A1 [regular] vibration compensation from the startups, and rely on running it manually every month or so. That specific task and my house’s timber frame find a resonance and it is very bad to have happen in the middle of the night lol
