please let me know if you have any suggestions because im look to print tiles for a bathroom/shower
i did some research and i couldn’t find much information.
It can absorb some water, after printing. It doesn’t degrade in water though. Most plastic water bottles are PET, part of the PETG family.
I am not sure it would be a great solution for bathroom tiles.
It will take ages to print and the material hasn’t been used for such things in any DIY show I have ever seen.
Good luck though.
You can perform your own tests, print a tile and leave it in some water in a bucket for a few days, extreme test.
Isn’t the printed surface going to be hard to clean?
That’s a good point. There may be places for mold to hide which could also need various cleaning agents and sanitizers and those may have their compatibility issues. Testing would probably be a good idea like Malc said but also include cleaning products and even mold if it will grow.
Totally not critical for accessories, but when considering what sounds like a permanent installation…
That depends on how you want to seal the surface in terms of paint/glazing and if you foresee the need to use hot steam for in depth cleaning.
